Who are A+?

• Accountancy Plus (Training) Ltd (A+) is the largest independent training provider based in the South West, specialising in accountancy training.
  
  
• We deliver courses across the South West with venues in Bideford, Exeter, Fraddon, Plymouth, Taunton and Torquay. We also deliver courses on site or by distance learning using on line materials and workbooks.

• Our courses include the full range of AAT qualifications for Accounting Technicians at Foundation, Intermediate and Technician Level, bookkeeping training, office skills, business administration and IT training.
  
  
• We have over 600 AAT learners, of whom half are undertaking Apprenticeships in Accounting.

• We hold funding contracts from the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) for Work Based Learning Apprenticeships, Adult Apprenticeships and Train to Gain (levels 2 & 3).  This means we might be able to deliver the training at little or no cost to students or employers.

• Our success rates are repeatedly higher than worldwide rates, with 100% pass rate for six years running for the AAT Foundation Level fast track option.
  
  
• In December 2008 we achieved certification in the Training Quality Standard, with excellence in accounting.  We are the first, and currently only, provider in the country to have achieved this in respect of accountancy training.
  
  
• Our mission is to widen participation in accountancy training and as part of this we are now extending our range of training support in accountancy to secondary schools.
  
  
• In the 2005/06 report of the Adult Learning Inspectorate (ALI), we were recognised as one of the best training providers in the country.
  
  
• We are involved in the DfES Standards Unit projects on differentiation and e-learning and have assisted them in the development of the related learning materials.
  
  
• We also offer a placement register to employers and new entrants to the accountancy professions to secure work placements.
  
  
• We employ 42 staff, including 21 trainers, mostly accounting trainers, including four qualified Chartered Accountants and three fully qualified teachers.
  
  
• We have our own Virtual Learning Environment (Moodle) which allows access to our interactive, on line teaching resources 24/7. We employ a dedicated multi media team to drive this forward on an ongoing basis.
  
  
• We have achieved accreditation of the Investors in People award five times.
  
  
• A+ were recently awarded Matrix accreditation for the quality of advice and guidance given to learners in choosing their course and career options.
