NVQ Levels 2 and 3 in Business Administration.

The Diplomas in Business Administration have been designed for learners to demonstrate a broad skills set when carrying out business administrative tasks and to develop an understanding of the principles that underpin working in a business administrative environment, including specialist and sector related knowledge. The qualification is made of units which provide credits towards the qualification. All elements of the course are completed in the workplace with the support of a Skills Officer. In order to successfully complete a unit a learner will need to gather evidence which shows they have met the required standard and this will be assessed by a Skills Officer via an electronic portfolio system.

There are a variety of optional unit pathways available for all these courses. These should be chosen relevant to a learners job role as evidence will need to be gathered in the workplace. These pathways can be tailored to meet specific needs and will be discussed with a Skills Officer.


Btec, Level 3, 90 Credit Diploma in Business

This practical day release course is ideally suited for those in business who would like a qualification to match their working knowledge and help them get ahead. Getting this qualification gives learner’s a broad foundation of knowledge, which they can build on and move into more specific areas of business, giving them the knowledge and confidence to thrive in a working environment.

  • Business resources

  • Introduction to marketing

  • Business communications

The units are individually assessed by course work with an overall grade awarded to all learners who successfully complete all units. Taught one day a week over two academic years, this is a practical, work related course for someone who wants to develop their career.

Btec, Level 3, 90 Credit Diploma in IT

In a world which is consumed by computers and the digital world this course offers a practical way to learn the skills you need to get ahead, With a dedicated computing lab, learners have the opportunity to create a windows domain and multi pc network. Learners can chose to study all 9 units or they can study individual units to enhance an area relevant to their work or skill gap:

  • Computer systems

  • HCI

  • Website production

  • Spreadsheet modelling

  • Managing networks

  • Digital graphics

  • Employability and communication skills

  • E Commerce

  • Maintaining systems

Assessment of the course is through written and practical course work and is taught for one day a week, and if completing all the units runs over two academic years. A great course if you want to progress into Web Design or technical support.
