It’s shocking, but some people say auditing is boring (!?!)... and who wants to teach a boring subject? There is a lot of underpinning knowledge and study manuals are an essential source for this. However, the subject needs to be brought to life – practical examples can make the subject really interesting.
The MAS project is too often the last piece in the Technician level jigsaw, and like with many jigsaws, that last piece seems to get lost! It is not easy to decide on the perfect time to deliver the training to support learners to complete the MAS unit.
You want them to have as much practical experience as possible, so that they can bring this experience to bear in their analysis and recommendations. However, if you leave it too late, the exams are upon them, and it gets put off until after June.....or even later!
As a result of constant tweaking we have developed a set of course materials, based around a case study that follows the performance criteria students will need to cover.
The packs comprise a comprehensive case study set out like a skills test booklet, supported by answer booklets/pro-forma report outline and suggested solutions/example report. These are supported by a powerpoint presentation that covers the key teaching points and links in to the case studies.
These are available as hard copy documents, in a course folder, suitable for issue to students, or can be made available in electronic form, suitable for delivery on Moodle.
We will create a separate course site for you on Moodle, in which the course structure will be set out with 2 sections: a) for download and b) for use as a distance learning course, set out in a series of practical learning sessions.
