TBA is ideal support for students studying BTEC Business or Business Studies or Accounting at A Level.

This free work experience pack was prepared by A+ on behalf of the ICAEW ( Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales ). It comprises:
A series of simple accounting activities, questionnaires, glossary of terms to provide up-to a week of activities to prepare pupils for the live activities they might be given by the employer.
Answers to all the above activities and questions plus an induction to work experience requirements. It tries to make the whole process easier for employers, to encourage them to be more willing to provide work experience placements.
1. Quadrant - Practice the basics of debits and credits either on line using our virtual learning environment or manually on a magnetic whiteboard.
– These can be used as a group activity to cover the principals of double entry bookkeeping and debits and credits. They get learners to their feet, playing a traditional game of dominoes but matching account items and debits and credits. There are 4 categories:
- Debits / Credits (30 cards);
- Revenue / expenses / capital / assets / liabilities (30 cards);
- Increases / decreases as debits / credits (30 cards);
- Balance Sheet / Profit & Loss Account (42 cards).
Word templates for each category of the dominoes are available to download on line for free or you can buy the finished article from us in a hard copy laminated form.
Both manual Quadrant and Dominoes are excellent kinaesthetic learning tools – or to put it another way - they’re great at getting students on their feet and mucking in!
This is published regularly and provides a summary of those resources currently available, those being developed and other training developments that we feel will be of interest to schools.
