Within the on-line site, learners will find:
- The interactive book-keeping learning programme.
- Additional Question Banks developed by A+ to provide further support to test their learning.
Within this programme there is a Reporting function that allows employers to monitor learners’ progress in the self test questions and their usage of the system.
The on-line interactive training programme has been split into three units for ease of learning.
- Introduction to book-keeping
- Accounting adjustments
- Practical book-keeping and final accounts
|
This unit covers the double entry recording of transactions up to trial balance, and the production of the profit and loss account and balance sheet from the trial balance.
Traditional T-accounts are used, as well as journal entries in a typical computer format.
No previous knowledge of accounting is required. By the end of “Introduction to bookkeeping”, you will have learned to record transactions in double entry terms, extract a trial balance and prepare a simple set of accounts for a sole trader. |
|
|
This unit covers specific double entry techniques using the knowledge of double entry learned in the 'Introduction to bookkeeping' unit.
Topics such as accruals and prepayments, fixed assets and depreciation, leasing, loans, and hire purchase are all dealt with within this unit.By the end of 'Accounting adjustments', you will have learned how to process most types of common transactions and adjustments and be able to produce a more complex set of accounts for a sole trader. |
|
|
This unit covers the recording of transactions in the primary records of businesses, and the posting of the ledgers from the books of original entry.
The final module looks at the financial statements of different types of businesses — clubs and societies, partnerships and limited companies. By the end of this unit, you will be familiar with the more practical aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping and the contents and format of the final accounts of different types of organisation. |
|
You can monitor the progress of your new recruits as our software provides instantaneous, detailed information on their learning allowing you to monitor progress on-line before they join you.
The flexible methods of delivery and automated marking of the tests in the on-line lessons greatly enhance training and learning. This is enhanced by the ability to apply that learning to a
comprehensive series of traditional paper-based bookkeeping activities, for which answers are also supplied.
There are no time restrictions and learners are encouraged to progress at their own pace. The time spent will depend on individual circumstances, including time available for online access and individual experience. On average it is anticipated that it will take around a week to complete The Balancing Act programme in full on a self-study basis. If you can only put in one evening a week of 2 hours, this will equate to 18 weeks (i.e. 1 module per week).
